ECEN 5223 Presentation
After selecting a paper from the selection list, prepare a short presentation
on the technical contents of the paper.
Your talk should be between 10 and 15 minutes long.
For each paper determine what type of paper it might be,
such as theoretical, experimental, tutorial, methodological, etc.
After the presentation, submit a copy of your slides to the instructor.
The copy can be either paper or a floppy disk.
Your presentation is due according to the posted schedule on the ECEN5223 web site.

ECEN 5223 Paper/Report
After your presentation, you should write a report describing your chosen paper.
Your report should have the following sections and items:
Title page, include your name and the course number and your paper title
(not the session title or the title of your papers;
your abstract (between 35 and 60 words);
introduction section, which describes the session, lists the papers, and gives a
general overview or background for the paper, which is not to exceed one page;
one section on the key technical contents of the paper;
the paper section should list the authors,
The evaluation section must answer all of these questions: Is the paper clearly written? Was the paper interesting?
Was the work original? Are all of the key concepts clearly present? Is it technically sound?
Is the math correct? Are the claims supported by evidence? Are the tables and figures clear
and relevant to the paper. Are the limitations of the method presented? Are there sufficient
references to prior work? Is the idea in this paper compared or contrasted with other work?
Is the English satisfactory? What would you change? Is it too long or too short?
Your paper should describe the relationship to your test project or ECEN 5223
in general. Also, in this section identify the best reference or references cited by
the paper, and explain the basis for your choice.
Your paper should include a summary section. In this summarize the key topic, with a special emphasis upon
the ideas that seem most applicable to this class. Also, for each paper mention whether
you recommend one of the following: Everyone in the class and future ECEN 5223 classes
should read the paper,
only some of the class may be interested in the paper, I am glad I read it but do not
recommend others to read it, it was a waste of my time and I do not recommend
others to read it, and it was so bad I wonder how it was accepted.
You must submit a paper copy of your paper.
The paper should be about 4 pages long (approximately 1000 words).
Spelling and grammar will be checked.
The papers are due with the final exam. Also, in the summary list topics or ideas
you learned from these papers that are valuable or relevant to ECEN 5223.
Remember when writing, to: "tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them,
and then tell them what you told them. "
I realize this sounds repetitive, but it is the best way to organize
technical writing.
